Going beyond anecdotes it is a relatively simply exercise to pre-position A/V devices in select zoo environments and acquire data for a scatter plot (resident decibels vs tremor magnitude). Many, many years ago when there were residents at the Kolkata zoo even a 3.X aftershock would be preceded by a cacophony.
